ICE

BY LUKE DULEMBA

I know I

Cannot comprehend the

Elegance of a lustrous eagle

I can watch her take to the

Calloused sun, soar

Elongated beside the other

Immaculate, lustrous eagles

Can you hear their calling?

Everlastingly radiating from the

Industrial

Cities to the

Enveloped beaches

I know no beauty like that of an eagle

Candescent with pride

Eloquently rolling gritos off the vibrant muscles of tongue

Independent vertebrates shooting rays of pure love

Calling to

Each other one love song by one dance

I never understand why their nests are debate subjects

Can someone

Explain the harms of their eggs?

I know my head is human, though my body is bird, too

Can you hear their cries?

Even though,

I know you don't want to, but

Can you spare the

Eloquent, Immaculate, lustrous eagle

I want her home, please
